This Is The Coolest Invention Ever From The 70s. Why Did This Never Catch On?!

The 70's were a time of all sorts of nifty inventions, some stuck like pocket calculators and microwaves while other inventions were a bit too out there and didn't really take off, like water beds. This mini-camper that could attach onto the roof of small cars to give the driver incredible maneuverable is one idea I wish had stuck. If only because it looks like awesome fun. Check out the ad below of the Harmon Industries Shadow trailer in action, shown attached to a Volkswagen Beetle. I guess when it comes to explaining why this didn't become a thing was best explained in their own video: "If dad performs a few of these gyrations while the family is eating breakfast there could be a trailer load of trouble." This Kitchen And Backyard Took Five Years To Create. Wait Until You See Why.

Artist Liza Lou spent five years creating a life-size kitchen and backyard out of tiny glass beads. Everything in the two spaces is made of brightly colored glass beads known as "seed beads" and often used for making jewelry. The food, the water in the sink, the furniture and fixtures, and all 250,000 blades of grass in the backyard are made from seed beads. Lou used millions of beads to create these scenes, and used nothing but her hands and a pair of tweezers to place each one in the right place. She started working on the kitchen in 1991 and completed in 1996, and the backyard began in 1999.  Liza Lou The kitchen, complete with newspaper, food, drinks, and a sink full of dishes. ...

If you thought the pumpkin spice craze would die down any time soon, think again. First, there were pumpkin spice lattes, cupcakes, pancakes, candles, and cookies. Now, a new (and even more absurd) tribute to the autumnal flavor has appeared. In China, a group of cooks recently decided to create a massive version of the American Thanksgiving staple, pumpkin pie. There were around 40 cooks working on the batter. NetEase Along with pumpkin, ingredients also included raisins, dates, and lots of sugar. NetEase The pan had a circumference over 130 feet. NetEase The cooks formed an assembly line to ad...

Food is pretty great when you think about it. (Although, you probably shouldn't think about it non-stop like I do.) Luckily, the Internet has been thinking of food since its inception and has you covered. Here are some hilarious and surprisingly philosophical thoughts about food from around the Internet. How did I never think of any of these? 1.) If you were illiterate, alphabet soup would just be noodles. flickr 2.) Technically, it’s impossible to skip breakfast since the first time you eat during a day is when you ‘break your fast.’ flickr 3.) Smoothies are just cold fruit soup. flickr ...

Children are like very small adults with over-active imaginations and under-developed motor skills, so it's not uncommon to find them scribbling out their ideas on construction paper. Most of the time, what kids want to draw never ends up looking like what is actually drawn... OR DOES IT? Most adults assume that the messy images that end up on the paper aren't what kids meant to draw. Dutch artist Telmo Pieper proved that sometimes childish doodles look more like finalized (and terrifying) works than we might originally think. He revisited some of the drawings he made as a child and "finished" them with his adult skills. The final result is borderline nightmarish. Originally, Telmo drew these years ago. Telmo Pieper ...

They say not to go food shopping on an empty stomach, because you’ll probably end up buying more than you really need. If that’s the case, then these people must have made the supermarket their first stop on the journey back home from the deserted island they’d been stranded on for months. That, or they decided buying a giant bag of cheese puffs would be cheaper than getting a new mattress. Check it out... 1.) Marc Da Cunha Lopes is a French artist who loves biology and science fiction. In his series of photographs entitled, 'Vertebrata' the artist explores both in the coolest fashion. These skeletons, which appear to be creatures from some unexplored moon in the Guardians of The Galaxy universe, are actually just blown up skeletons of birds, monkeys, cats and other critters. He set them in abandoned households and other locations so that in Da Cunha's mind it appears as though "they are looking for those who made them." This is way creepier than I thought it'd be... ...
